“I have one.”

“Just how many guns did you bring?”

He shrugged. “You know how to use it, right?”

“Of course.” She gripped the weapon. Dwayne had taught her how to handle guns.

“Good, then. Watch yourself.”

Nathan got out, and Erin took his place on the driver’s side. Were they making a mistake? Nathan hiked across the street and then along the sidewalk. He walked under the archway and kept walking until she could no longer see him.

After a few calming breaths, she took pictures with her cell phone. A few of the gravestones had skulls and crossbones, all part of Boston’s rich history. She placed the cell on the console, waiting and watching. Hoping she wouldn’t have to call the police.

The trees in the cemetery were thick—almost a forest. A soon-to-be dark forest closing in around her.She closed her eyes and slowed her breaths.
