“It makes sense. You don’t know how much of yourself to invest in this … in us.”

“Pretty much.”

“Look, I’ll be honest. I’m not going to lie to you. I like you. Probably more than I should. You’re sexy as hell and amazing in bed. I’ve never been with someone like you before.”

“What do you mean someone like me?” Hallie wasn’t sure if she liked where this was going or not.

“Someone who gets me hard and keeps me hard. Someone who I can’t get out of my damn head.”

Maybe she did like where this was going.

“Go on,” she said now that he had stroked her ego.

“The truth is that I don’t know where this is going, but I’d like to find out. There is definitely something between us, and I know you feel it too, or you likely wouldn’t have hopped into bed with me.” He popped another piece of bacon into his mouth. “But I would like to find out where this is going if you’re up for it.”

“I’d like that. A lot.”

“Did I answer all of your questions?” he asked.

“There’s just one more.”

“What’s that?”

“Is it socially acceptable to throw you up on the table and ride you until the cows come home?”

“Yep!” Rev jumped up from his seat and quickly gathered all the dishes. “So, do you want me on the table, or was that just a metaphor?”
