“Yes?”

“Do you have any idea where Virgil disposed of my wife’s body?”

My heart skipped a beat.

“Cosmo?”

“I don’t know.”

“Swear it.”

“I swear on my life that I have no idea where Virgil disposed of her body.”

He sighed, his body slumping. “I’m sorry for the way I treated you.”

“I’m sorry for not being completely honest with you.”

He cupped my face and stared into my eyes. “Is there anything else I should know? That’s all there is, right?”

“You know everything.”

He placed his forehead on mine and kissed me lightly. “The things you get me to do for you.”

“Oh, there’s one thing.”

Hunter stiffened under me. “What is it?”

“You might need a new wardrobe. I peed on all your clothes and shoes.”

“Is that what that smell is?”

I nodded.

Hunter tucked his face into my neck and laughed. “As long as that’s all there is. I can live with that, but what I can’t live with is your lies. No more lies, Cosmo. Not after all I’ve done for you.”

“For us,” I corrected.
