Archer curls his lip. “You’re changing, sweet thing. The longer you stay here. You’re feeling comfortable. I think too comfortable. You’re confusing my thirst with need. And you’re getting it from other places.”

“What are you talking about, Archer?” I ask. “I have no idea who my family is still. Okay? How long are we going to-“

Archer opens his other hand.

He stabs the object with his knife.

He pulls the knife away.

Then he squeezes his hand, dripping white icing down into the palm of my hand.

“Isn’t this the way you like it, Jaci?” Archer whispers.

“What the fuck…”

“Right? Your hand covered in it.”

I realize why I’m here.

He knows about Cullen.

And he’s pissed… which means he’s jealous…

I close my hand.

White icing shoots out from in between my fingers.

I have this vision in my head.

Where I pick up my hand and start to lick the icing away.

Just to send Archer over the edge.

But he’s already over the edge.

Before I move, he places the tip of the knife against my wrist.

“Open your hand, sweet thing,” he whispers. “I won’t say it twice.”

He presses just a little with the knife.

I quickly open my hand.

He lifts the knife up a few inches.

“This is not a fucking game,” he growls.

Somehow I know he’s going to slam the knife down as hard as he can.

I pull my hand away and the knife comes down, sinking into the wood of the picnic table.

And Archer just stands there, staring at me.

My heart jumps into my throat.

For a moment I think I’m going to vomit.

Whatever cool kind of power I thought I had for a second there (you know, letting Archer go down on me and then jerking off Cullen) is gone.
