I’m not sure how long I’m passed out for though.

Just that I’m on the couch.

“She’s coming back,” Maz says.

“What the fuck do we do?” Birdie asks.

“I have an idea,” Maz says.

“What?” Birdie asks.

“We need to call Cullen Doyle and tell him to come get her.”

Chapter 36

‘Did you give her anything yet?’

‘Nothing.’

‘I said to get her some zazas.’

‘I didn’t say not to do that.’

‘But I brought it up first.’

‘Listen, I just want her to feel better. What happened? Do you know anything?’

‘Not really.’

‘I’m glad you called me. I’ll take care of her.’

At some point I open my eyes and see Cullen sitting across from me.

I’m still in the dorm.

I see Maz and Birdie.

Birdie’s face is bright red.

That’s what happens when she talks to Cullen Doyle.

Maz looks mad. But she always looks mad.

Cullen touches my face. “Hey, love. Good to see you, huh?”

“Cullen,” I whisper.

“Jaci, I need you to take something,” he says. “You need to calm yourself down. It’s okay to get worked up. It’s okay to panic. But you need to let us help you.”

Cullen lifts his right hand.

He’s got a white pill between his pointer and thumb.

“Zaza?” I ask.

“Yes,” he says. “It’s for anxiety and panic. It’s not some crazy street drug, okay?”

I nod.
