“Please!” Ava cries out. “Please, Jaci!”
“Fine,” I say. “But I’m not letting your hair go, Ava. You can walk away though.”
“What the fuck does that mean?” Ava screams.
I lift the knife.
Brianna gasps and covers her mouth.
“Don’t turn your head, Ava,” I warn. “Or else you’re going to end up missing your nose instead of some hair.”
“What?” Ava cries out.
I put the knife to the hair I’m holding and cut back and forth as hard as I can.
It’s not a perfect cut though.
The knife isn’t made to go through hair easily.
Ava screams and thrashes again.
I get some of her hair, then I let her go.
She reaches for Brianna and collapses into her.
“You’ll pay for this!” Ava yells.
“No, I won’t,” I say.
They hurry out of the kitchen.
I turn and see everyone at the party staring at me.
I have a knife in one hand.
And a small clump of Ava’s hair in the other hand.
I toss the knife to the counter and lift my hand up and open it, letting Ava’s overly conditioner-laced hair fall to the floor.
There’s not a sound made.
This is quiet power.
This is complete control.
I think this really does officially make me an Heir now.
Chapter 52
“Hey, you,” I say and grab some guy’s shirt.
He stops and looks at me.
His eyes go wide.
“Do you know who I am?” I ask.
He nods.
