“You almost got that right,” Archer says.

“Almost?” I ask.

He inches down and gently kisses me.

My eyes go wide with surprise.

When he’s done kissing me, he says, “You are beautiful. You need to know that.”

He inches down my body and leaves me in shock as I feel the tip of his nose touch my neck. He makes a straight line down to my right nipple. Then he keeps going. Down to my stomach, over my belly button… and he keeps going.

His hot breath tickles between my legs for a second.

He kisses my inner thigh, then stands up.

Behind him, the bedroom door opens and Birdie suddenly walks in.

I throw the covers over my body.

Birdie gasps.

She looks at Archer, then runs out of the room.

“Shit,” I whisper. “They weren’t supposed to be back yet.”

“Ashamed of me, sweet thing?” Archer asks.

“Very,” I say. “You’re evil and dangerous, Archer.”

“Yet you’re intrigued and want more,” he says.

He turns toward the door and purposely shows off the knife he’s threatened me with again and again.

He grabs his shirt and puts it on before opening the door to leave the bedroom.

I hear both Birdie and Maz gasp at the sight of him.

Now I scramble to try and find my clothes.

I give up and just wear the comforter off my bed.

Just like I did when I was with Cullen…

I hurry out of the bedroom just in time to see Archer leaving the dorm.

Then Maz and Birdie look at me.

Their jaws drop.

“Why are you back?” I growl. “You said you were going to a party.”

“I wanted to leave,” Birdie said. “It felt weird.”

“I had no interest in being there,” Maz says.

“Did I walk in on you and Archer…fucking?” Birdie whispers loudly.

“No,” I say. “We were done.”
