“I noticed that most twins weren’t like us.”

“Most twins are close with each other and like the same things. You know they did all those studies about twins separated at birth, and they grew up to have similar occupations and married women with the same first name. It was real cute.”

“I read all about them. Truth be told, I devour any information I come across on twins, especially if it’s on identical twins.”

“I’d love twin girls, because we could dress them alike and they’d always have a playmate.”

“You made having twins sound like it would be something to aspire to.”

Laughing, Barbara gave him a quick kiss. “I don’t think we can do anything to improve our chances there, but we’d definitely be lucky if it happened.”

“I sure do like that little daughter Darkness totes around on his hip. She’s really cute, and I can see how proud he is to have a child. It makes me envious, but I worry…”

“Stop worrying and take the plunge,” she said, jabbing him playfully in his side. “You never know, after last night, I might already be pregnant.”

“Are you?”

Shaking her head, she replied honestly, “I don’t think so. I’m not ovulating. Tonight would just have to be a practice run.”

Rubbing his face along the side of her, he began kissing her as he spoke. “I don’t know, but I think we did okay last night.”

“Hey, there’s more to it than provoking multiple orgasms and shooting your load several times.”

“No there isn’t.”

“Yeah, you’re right. I was just playing around.”

Ace wasn’t as playful. “I like it when you’re in a good mood, but making babies is serious business.”

“Taking care of babies is serious business,” she reminded him, “but making them is supposed to be nonstop fun.”

Pulling back, he looked down into her amused face. “What do you need to make it more entertaining, juggling bears and clowns driving around us in their little cars?”

“Don’t be silly,” she scoffed. “One mime doing the mirror thing should suffice.”

“Mimes are terrifying,” he insisted with wide eyes. “I always wonder why they make scary movies about clowns when mimes have a higher creep factor.”

“Hmm, good question.” She combed her fingers through his hair. “We got off the subject of romance and baby making. What would it take to get you back in the mood, big guy?”

Beaming, he teased, “A solemn vow that we’ll never allow a clown or mime near our little ones would go a long way toward alleviating my fears.”

“It’s moments like this that you don’t sound like a wild-ass biker.”

Nipping her ear as he kissed her neck, he responded, “Nobody is just one thing, beautiful. You should know that, since you’re a rock hound who loves to cook and pin cool shit to your Pinterest board.”

“God, I love you so much it hurts.”

Feigning concern, Ace cooed, “Tell Dr. Ace where it hurts.”

Taking his hand down, she pressed it between her legs.

Sliding down, he murmured seductively, “I should see to that.”

“Mmm, yes. You have a talented tongue.”

Moving into a comfortable position, he looked up her magnificent body. “Trust me when I say, from this moment forward, it’s all just for you.”

“You’re offering me the one thing I never had from a man. Are you sure?”
