“Fuck, De Santis,” Drake said roughly. “Man, I’m really sorry. I didn’t know this shit was happening until last night. Fallon outed Tate for having Bianca. It was the first I’d heard of it. I’ve been with the horsemen for a while now. I push sugar for them. I’ve wanted out of the lords for a long ass time. I’ve been planning to take their asses out for so long now. I could have gone to them, or even you last night, but I saw it as my chance to finally end them. I didn’t have the location to where she was being held, so I had to play along until I got there.”

“Drake, you really fucked up,” Fox sighed. “You should have told us.”

“Like I said, I was desperate to get rid of them. They’ve been ruining my life since I was a kid.”

E shook his head as he stared at the floor.

I honestly didn’t give a shit if Drake’s life had been ruined by the lords. All our lives had been ruined by the men before us. How we fucking dealt with it determined our freedom.

“I want you to all know I didn’t touch her. Her condition. . .” Drake’s voice trailed off. “Dominic, she’s bad. Tate fucked her up while he had her. This entire ordeal might take her life.”

Dom’s hands shook, his jaw quivering as he stared at the phone.

“Where is my wife?” he choked out, his voice trembling.

Drake sighed. “I don’t know where she is right now. Let me make some calls—”

“Fucking tell me!” Dom bellowed, rising to his feet, his face crimson as his chest heaved. “Tell me where the fuck she is, or I swear I will bring hell to your doorstep. I don’t fucking care how long it takes me to find you. I will find you. And you will pay.”

“I’ll be in touch,” Drake said. His voice was soft. “I promise.”

The line went dead, leaving us in silence.

So much sickness rushed through me as I got to my feet. I went to Dom who was still staring at the phone, his hands clenched into tight fists at his side.

“Sit. Breathe,” I commanded Dom softly. I rested my hand on his back. He trembled violently beneath my touch. Instead of sitting, he stormed from the room. The sound of glass breaking sounded out moments later and him cursing and things crashing.

We didn’t move. We simply sat and let him get his anger out. When he quieted, Levin rose to his feet.

“I’ll check on him,” he said softly, before leaving the room to find Dom.

I sat back on the couch and stared at the horsemen.

“We’ll find her,” E said gently. “We aren’t giving up until we do.”

I scoffed. “You assholes had Drake under your thumb this whole time and didn’t tell us.”

“We didn’t know if Vasiliev was on the level. Clearly he wasn’t,” Fox said. “It’s a good thing we didn’t say anything.”

I grunted. I guess they had a point.

“Whether you chose to believe it or not, Drake is a good guy,” E continued. “He’s Macy’s cousin.”

The girl who was murdered in Dom’s arms.

“Macy put us in contact with him. He’s wanted out for a long time. He’s never not been trustworthy to us. If he’s asking for time, we give it to him. He might be able to still extract vital information. Drake is well-connected.”

“He’s an asshole who knows where she was at the very least. Why can’t he give us that information?” I demanded, my anger still at a boiling point.

“When Drake gives information, that information is always accurate. He’s thorough. Let’s give him the time he needs,” Fox urged. “He’ll come through.”

“I guess we know a different guy. The Drake I know is a diehard lord, not a fucking snitch.”

“People do what they must to survive. To be free. To save those they love. Drake isn’t any different from the rest of us. If it turns out he’s fucking with us, he dies. It would be a terrible loss, but traitors aren’t kept. They’re killed.” Enzo adjusted his leather jacket, his rings glinting in the setting sun that filtered in through the living room window. “If he fucks up, his mistakes won’t go unpunished. I promise this to you, Vincent.”

I nodded. “You better fucking hope so because I haven’t forgotten what you did to me and B. I just need a reason, Lorenzo. If he gives me one, your ass swings too.”

Enzo cocked his head and smiled at me. “I promise to enjoy the ride, my friend.”
