It had been such a decent night. We’d watched Bianca dance and smile. It had actually felt like shit might be OK for a moment, but then the goddamn horsemen had to ruin everything.

They’d better hope they could outtalk Dom, because if they couldn’t, shit was going to get really bad.

I’d make damn sure of it.

Nobody fucked with my boys.

And they sure as hell didn’t want to fuck with my girl.

After tonight, they’d remember it.

CHAPTER2

Dominic

Everything was in place.

If I died tonight, my father would be without his heir, if he even wanted me anymore. God knew I’d been fucking shit up lately. On the other hand, branching out and taking my father out was still mighty appealing to me.

In fact, if I made it out of this alive, I was going to start getting my shit together to do just that. If there was one thing I knew it was that I never wanted to be the fucking rabbit. The rabbit always got eaten. I needed to be the lion.

I exhaled and stepped inside the warehouse. It was dark, and I was on my guard. The grenade was up my leather jacket sleeve, so it wouldn’t be noticed. At least I hoped it wouldn’t. I’d never exactly rolled into a place and set a grenade off before.

“Dominic De Santis,” a deep voice boomed as a blond guy stepped from the shadows and pressed a gun to my head. “Welcome.”

“Where is she?” I snarled, doing everything in my power to not take his gun and shove it up his ass and pull the trigger.

He kept the gun leveled on me as he did a quick pat down, completely missing my grenade.

"Right this way,” he said, moving behind me, the gun now at the back of my head.

I strode in the direction he pushed, taking in our surroundings. The place was so dim I couldn’t distinguish an exit. There were plenty of busted out windows on the upper level, but everything on this floor seemed to be boarded up.

I spotted a door in the back and sent up a silent prayer we’d be able to get out of it. It had decent cover with barrels and pallets stacked around it, so we’d have a fighting chance if we could get to it.

I fought every instinct to not run to Bianca and Vin when I saw them tied to their seats.

“What did you do to her?” I breathed out, shifting to step toward her.

Her head lolled on her shoulder, and her lips were covered by a piece of duct tape.

“Ah, ah, ah,” Blondie tutted, pressing the gun harder into my skull. “This is our party. We say when you dance, big boy.”

I stopped and swallowed hard, glancing at Vincent. He was awake, and he stared at me with wide eyes, his mouth covered.

That wasn’t the startling thing though. It was the three knives sticking out of his body and the blood pooling at his feet that got me.

What the fuck?

Blondie moved away from me, and three guys came out of a room and joined him. I sized them up, taking in the fuckers who were trying to ruin my life. Immediately, I zeroed in on De Luca. He was easy to pick out from the other three. Everything about the asshole screamed money and power, from his perfect black faux hawk to his designer jeans and Italian leather boots.

“So glad you could make it,” he greeted me like we were old friends. “Dominic, right?”

“Lorenzo?” I snapped.

He smirked. “Yes. Everyone just calls me Enzo. How was your drive? I trust there wasn’t much traffic.”

“Fuck you. Release my wife.”
