“I fucking told you guys she was wild,” Cole grunted out. “Fucking nailed it.” He groaned.

“Bianca, I know we didn’t get off on the right foot,” Lorenzo started.

“It was a test. Right?” I raised my brows at him.

“Everything is a test in our world.”

“Why didn’t you just arrange a meeting with Dominic? Why did it have to end with Vincent getting hurt and nearly dying and you assholes knocking me out?”

“To be fair, E is the one who knocked you out. We wanted you awake,” Cole gasped out.

“Why? You said you were going to kill Vinny.”

“And we would have if Dominic hadn’t shown up and proven his. . . resourcefulness,” Lorenzo said.

“You’re sick.”

“We’re that and more. But we do want to speak to your husband. No tricks. No hidden motives. He’s proven himself. You definitely have.” Lorenzo nodded to my gun. “I believe you’re capable of taking care of things. I’d like to arrange that meeting with your husband if you don’t mind.”

I glanced from him to Cole, who was sweating against the brick wall, still clutching his leg.

“I was kind to you, peach,” Ethan called out softly. “I didn’t want you to see the shit that was happening if it came down to it.”

I scoffed at him. “Thatwas kindness?”

“It was the best I could do at the time,” he muttered.

“Cole needs a doctor,” Fox said.

I glanced at Cole again. He definitely needed a doctor. I wasn’t even sure where I’d shot him. Maybe his thigh.

“A meeting. With your kings,” Lorenzo said again, pulling my attention from Cole. “Or kill us and be done with it.”

“Don’t move,” I said. “If you do, I swear I’ll shoot Cole in the other leg.”

Lorenzo inclined his head at me, his hands still held up.

I tightened my grip on the gun while I pulled my phone from my clutch and quickly hit Dominic’s name.

He answered on the first ring. “Where the hell are you?” he demanded as a greeting.

Lorenzo smirked up at me. I guessed he could hear Dominic’s voice.

“I have a bit of a situation out back. Could you please come help me?”

“Don’t fucking move. I’ll be there in a minute.”

I hung up on him and pointed the gun at Lorenzo. He seemed like the guy I’d actually have to kill if shit went south.

“So… You and De Santis,” Lorenzo said conversationally like he wasn’t worried about my gun pointing at his face.

These horsemen were strange. None of this seemed to really have an effect on them. Either that or they had nerves of steel and could school their emotions. I did see a hint of human lurking in Cole when he’d spoken of his baby dying and nearly losing those he loved.

But they’d done some real shitty things. I’d keep my gun leveled on them for now.

“Me and De Santis,” I answered back.

“Heard you guys had a hell of a wedding reception.”
