Page 7 of Hard for You

Wolfe tensed up. “Has the pack threatened you?”

“What? No. Of course not.” He had a feeling she was lying to him.

“The pack are just not as tolerant as perhaps I would like, that’s all. Buster and Rascal have been through enough. I have to work, and I don’t always have the option of keeping an eye on them.” She shrugged.

“You’re scared for them?”

“Oh, no.”

He knew she was lying.

The pack saw her as an outcast, and it wasn’t any secret that none of the pack seemed to like her dogs. That didn’tmean any of them had a right to hurt them.

“I will make sure your dogs are safe,” Wolfe said.

And not because he had come toenjoy seeing Buster and Rascal. They were loyal to Amelia, and he found that brought him a sense of peace.

****

Amelia didn’t have a clue how to be cool.

How to be natural around Wolfe. This was Wolfe. One of the scariest and sexiest men she had ever known. The pack was all she had ever known, but none of the men had quite made her feel the way Wolfe did.

His commanding presence. The way he looked at her.

His long hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and he looked like sex and sin. He was who she imagined fucking for the first time. Wolfe tearing through her virginity, staking his claim, and making her take all of his cock. In her mind, Wolfe wasn’t sweet or kind.

He was dirty. Controlling. He took what he wanted and gave with equal measure.

Ameliagritted her teeth.

She was already the pack outcast. She also didn’t need to be the woman that got aroused for no good reason. “I er, I don’t live too far,” she said.

The apartment she rented was near the forest, pretty much on the border. It was a small place that no one wanted. She had tried to rent a place in town as there were severalTo Rentsigns, but she hadn’t been allowed any of them.

If it hadn’t been the Poison Wolves MC, specifically Boyan, who’d been there that day when Bob the realtor had tried to convince her to leave as there was nothing for her, she wouldn’t have gotten this apartment.

They hadn’t been able to cast her outeven though the pack had hoped to push her out.

She had gotten the shittiest apartment on their books. It was something. She had given Boyan a care package as a thank-you.

The apartment had damp and mold, and a few other little visitors, butAmelia was not one to be deterred. She had spruced the place up. Learned to construct furniture, completely gut the place, decorate, and now, the apartment was as good as new.

The furry little rats were also gone, as well as some bugs that she didn’t wantto think about. Her apartment was home. Not far from the bar, and furthest away from town.

Wolfe climbed off his bikeand started to push it beside her.

“Isn’t that heavy?” she asked.

“Nah, it’s fine.”He didn’t even seem to be out of breath. This man was a machine. All of the MC were. The Poison Wolves MC only allowed for the best, the strongest to be part of their club. There were no women though.

The club had groupies, women who threw themselves at them for the right to be tagged, or whatever else it was they were hoping for.

“Did you, er, did you like the food?”she asked.

The diner hadn’t responded to her call. When someone had picked up, she had asked for food, and they immediately hung up. They didn’t want to know. She had no choice but to rush to her place, grab her leftovers, and quickly return to the bar.

Val wouldn’t be too pissed.
