Doc Alan nodded. “Easy enough. Usually. Can we clear a space on this table for him?”

Fallon and I shoved the shit off the table’s surface. Then I grabbed a plastic sheet from the roll in the corner and spread it over the tabletop before we shoved it against the wall. Doc nodded and placed his medical bag on it.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Jared opened the door again. It was Lorenzo fucking De Luca and his band of merry assholes.

Jared stepped aside, and the horsemen walked in. All but Cole the fuck face. He was brought in by Fox and Ethan.

“Table,” Doc instructed.

The guys hefted the asshole onto the table and backed away. Doc set to work cutting his pant leg and fixing him up.

“How bad?” Lorenzo grunted.

“Clean entry. Didn’t hit anything major.” Doc set up an IV and inserted the catheter into Cole’s arm. Methodically, he pulled out a syringe and vial of clear liquid. He drew out some medication. “Any allergies?”

“No,” Cole breathed out, wincing.

Doc gave him a dose of morphine. He waited a moment for Cole to lean back against the wall, his head lolling to the side and a dazed expression on his face.

Then Doc dug into the wound with forceps.

I’d seen Doc remove a few bullets from our guys before. He was quick and efficient. He had Cole fixed up in a matter of minutes, his wound clean and stitched. Doc rattled off a list of instructions to Cole before handing him two bottles of medication.

“Let the IV run until it’s empty. I gave him a dose of antibiotics as well as pain meds. If he has issues, call me. He shouldn’t though. It was nice and clean.”

“Money will be in your account within the hour,” Dom said.

“Until next time then,” Doc said, gathering his bag and heading to the door. He closed it behind him, leaving us alone.

“How’s that leg feel?” I called out, trying to simmer down my anger.

“Like your girl shot it,” Cole mumbled, blinking at me.

“We could always give you a matching set,” I snapped back.

“Vin. Enough,” Dom said.

I shut up but continued to glare at the assholes.

“I’d like to first offer my apologies to you and your men. And your wife,” Lorenzo started. “We got carried away.”

“No shit,” I muttered.

“And to you, Vincent,” Lorenzo said solemnly. “I went too far.”

“You fucking think, asshole?” I took a step forward. “You almost killed me, and you scared B. And you…” I rounded on Cole who grimaced at me. “Motherfucker. You beat the shit out of me.”

“I’m a method actor,” Cole mumbled.

“Me too, fuck face.” I made to dive on him, but Fallon darted in front of me and held me back as the Fox asshole shifted to stand in front of Cole.

“Vincent,” Dom snapped.

I scowled and backed away.

“Vincent,” Lorenzo said again. “I’m sorry. We all are. The lords attacked a local hangout we were at with our girl. She could’ve been harmed. Killed. Luckily, E had her with him, but I can’t imagine the devastation we’d have felt if she’d been caught in the crossfire. I saw you with Bianca. You know the sort of love I’m talking about. That’s how it is with our Rosalie. My anger got the better of me. It’s not a great excuse, but it’s all I have. I have trouble keeping my anger in check nowadays.”

“You might want to get some fucking therapy then, dick,” I said, shaking my head at him. I sympathized though. I knew the devastation he spoke of. I’d felt it with B before.
