I nodded. It made sense. Mostly.

“There is something though,” Bianca mumbled.

“What is it?” I asked.

She licked her lips and moved to stand. I pushed my glasses up my nose again and watched while she paced for a moment.

Vincent and Levin glanced at one another before focusing on her.

“Cole said something to me in the parking lot that doesn’t make sense. He said the lords have been doing other shit to disrupt the horsemen. Little things like breaking into their warehouse and attacking their pushers.” She paused and looked at me. “Why wouldn’t Fallon tell us about that?”

“Good fucking question,” Levin said gruffly.

I nodded.Good question indeed.I might be regretting saying I trusted him.

“Well,” I said, my anger boiling beneath the surface. “Let’s find out then, shall we?”

Bianca’s eyes widened as I sent a text to Fallon, demanding he show up immediately.

“What are you going to do?” she asked, fear in her voice.

“Get answers,” I replied simply. “And you’re going to shower and change out of Vin’s clothes. Put on the clothes I laid out for you on the counter in the bathroom.”

She gave me an eye roll that had me surging to my feet and grabbing her chin.

“Why the eye roll, wife?” I murmured as Levin and Vincent watched us.

“Because. What if I wanted to wear something else? Like. . .jeans and a t-shirt?”

“If I wanted you dressed like a commoner, I would’ve left you in the rags you arrived here in. You are a queen.Myqueen. Don’t argue. Just comply. OK?”

“Yes, Dominic,” she said, staring up at me. “If you promise to not lose your shit on Fallon until we know. It could be nothing.”

“And it could be everything,” I answered quietly.

The disgust of him possibly fucking us over made me sick to my stomach. If he had, I’d kill him. Nausea twisted my guts. I’d let him touch her.Loveher. Make her moan. No fucking way would he get away with all that if he was a fucking turncoat. My doubts raced through me, taking over the shaky trust I had in him.

“Please?” She twisted her fingers in my shirt.

“I just want answers. No one will get hurt,” I promised, kissing her soft lips. “Now shower and come back to me. I don’t enjoy your absence.” I released her and moved back to my chair.

She shot a quick look to Vincent.

I knew why she’d zeroed in on him. Levin would help me bust Fallon’s jaw in a heartbeat while Vincent would be more diplomatic.

“Vinny?” she called out.

“Don’t worry, B. I’ve got this,” he said, offering her a reassuring smile.

She nodded and left us.

Once I heard the shower going, I spoke, “Thoughts?”

“He’s a dead man if he’s spilling secrets. It’s that simple. Those were the terms. I’ll stand by them,” Levin said at once.

I turned to Vincent. “Vin?”

“Let’s hear what he has to say before we make any rash decisions,” he said immediately. “It could be absolutely nothing and that blond fuck was just talking shit.”
